Facilities

  • There are many comfortable areas to sit and unwind around camp. Our well stocked library - which offers an abundance of wildlife and research books, and novels - provides the perfect excuse to relax in a hammock.

  • For the more active, there is a volleyball court, which comes alive every afternoon.

  • Laundry, which is collected from the rooms, is delivered the same or next day.

  • There is a safe in the office for clients who wish to hand in valuables.

  • To minimise environmental impact and avoid the problems associated with plastic bottles, the water filter system at camp ensures that all drinking water and ice is perfectly safe.

  • Kipling Camp is on mains electricity, backed up by two large generators.

  • There is a souvenir shop selling various clothing, post cards, books and stickers. We also sell professional tiger photographs.

  • Various wildlife documentaries, including the award winning 'Land of the Tiger' made by Belinda Wright, and other films made in Kanha, are screened in the evenings.

  • The camp has three open-topped 4WD Maruti Gypsies for safari drives. These are equipped with first-aid kits.

Dining

  • The Refreshments Bar in the Shamiana serves a wide variety of beverages.

  • Picnic breakfasts are served in the National Park and eaten at an opportune time during the morning safari.

  • Lunch and Dinner are served in the Shamiana back at the Camp. Our menus offer a wide range of Western and Indian Cuisine, which is prepared by our experienced chef. Many clients prefer Indian cuisine, although we are careful not to prepare anything too spicy! Home cooking is a specialty and a good old roast chicken with all the trimmings is a popular dish.

  • On arrival, any specific food preferences are noted and all attempts are made to accommodate these requests.
