BIRDWATCHING

– Kipling Camp is a bird watchers' paradise.

Songs of the rich birdlife awaken visitors at dawn. Brilliant golden orioles, scarlet minivets, tiny jewel-like sunbirds and racket-tailed drongoes (the mimics of the forest) can all be seen around the Camp. At night you might find the Mottled Wood Owl, the Brown Hawk Owl or the rare Spot-bellied Eagle Owl - these three large owls have all been seen and photographed there in the last few months.

Over 260 species of birds have been recorded in Kanha and most of these occur in the forests surrounding Kipling Camp. There are excellent birdwatching and trekking opportunities and guides can be provided on request.
